University of Chicago – Laboratory Schools Expansion and Renovation
Renovation of approximately 315,000 SF of existing space and construction of 224,000 GSF of new space for the University of Chicago Lab School, one of the top private Nursery through 12th Grade schools in the nation. Components of this project include:
- 119,000 SF 3-story Early Childhood Center will house classrooms, offices, library space, and a gymnasium. Roof spaces will be utilized as play areas and for mechanical equipment.
- 94,000 SF building addition for Performing and Visual Arts
- Renovation of existing space in Judd Hall, University High School, and Blaine Hall.
The new construction components are being designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and sustainable features will be visible to students as learning tools.
