The University of North Carolina at Charlotte hosted a campus groundbreaking event for one of their most innovative projects to date, their new Science Building. This event was held at The University of North Carolina Charlotte campus building site.

The new Science Building will help provide an environment for interdisciplinary science education, research, and collaboration.  The new facility will integrate undergraduate laboratories, research laboratories, faculty and administrative offices, graduate student workspace and collaboration space into a unified center for learning and research.  This new Science Building will replace the Facilities Operations and Parking Services and will become a symbol of UNC Charlotte’s commitment to science education.  The University is also committed to their students, and that is why there will be a Café, data center, and a new regional plant to help promote an academic and social atmosphere.  This $70M construction budget project is scheduled for completion in 2021.

CCS believes this project will push UNC to the forefront of educational leadership by providing this start-of-the-art facility for students and faculty alike.  With Clark Nexsen’s help, this new science building at UNC Charlotte will be a reason future students choose UNC Charlotte.
