Witte Museum

Witte Museum

San Antonio, TX

This project, “New Witte”, is Phase II of the Witte Museum Master Plan. Components of Phase II include Valero Great Hall (10,000 SF), the new lobby/receiving area for the museum, which will feature a glassed-in entryway and permanent dinosaur exhibition space. The new changing Exhibit and Special Events Center (9,000 SF) will feature several riverside porches. This phase also includes renovation of the 85-year-old main building, and new state-of-the-art galleries such as Texas Wild, Dinosaur, and Archeology / Anthropology, all featuring collection-based, interactive components. An aqueduct will carry water from the San Antonio river, through the Grand Entry, out over the walkways, driveways and lawns into a pool with a splashing fountain. This project has a goal of LEED Gold certification.
