About The Project

Mercyhealth is a regional health system with seven hospitals and 85 primary and specialty care locations throughout 50 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin communities. Over 24 months, CCS provided on-site owner representation for a new $475 million regional hospital campus for the system. The new Javon Bea Hospital — Rockton encompasses 600,000 square feet of space on a 263-acre site. In addition to program management, CCS was responsible for cost estimating, cost management, ongoing change order review and analysis during construction. CCS oversaw the building of highly specialized and critical care services including:

  • A Level I trauma center
  • An adult subspecialty hospital
  • A comprehensive diagnostic center
  • 188 inpatient units
  • Advanced operating suites
  • An emergency care center
  • A cardiology clinic
  • A catheterization laboratory

Unique features of the campus include a rooftop healing garden with a meditation zone, a children’s playground and a dramatic living wall in the two-story lobby.

Through its proprietary approach, CCS completed the project under budget and one month early, allowing the facility to open to the public on time.
