About the Project

The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is the United States Navy’s engineering systems command, providing the Navy and United States Marine Corps with facilities and expeditionary expertise. NAVFAC has headquarters at the Washington Navy Yard and is under the command of the chief of civil engineers.

To date, CCS has completed more than 80 projects nationally for NAVFAC, both cost estimating /cost management on term contracts, as well as independent projects, including the following:

  • Navy Yard Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — The navy yard is a 1,200-acre campus, home to more than 150 companies and organizations in the office, industrial and manufacturing, R&D and retail sectors. CCS participated in a 50,000-square-foot new facility to be used to evaluate full-scale shipment systems and equipment. The facility consists of 31,000 gross square feet of industrial space and 19,000 square feet of light lab space.
  • The Office/Administration building is a two-story structure with open office space. The shipping, receiving and maintenance building consists of a high-bay portion with support space. The CCS project involved the demolition of two existing buildings, including hazardous material remediation, construction of underground stormwater management vaults, site/utility work and new security fencing and gates/barriers.
  • NNMC Navy Lodge addition, Bethesda, Maryland — For military personnel who are relocating, the Navy Lodge offers temporary housing before servicepeople make long-term arrangements. CCS was part of a team that completed a 25,694-square-foot, five-story, 47-room addition to the existing facilities in Bethesda.
  • NSAW — Visiting Flag Officers Quarters, Washington D.C. — The visiting flag quarters (VFQ) serves as the chief of naval operations (CNO) guest quarters. As such, VFQ provides temporary accommodations for Navy and Marine Corps flag and general officers, flag rank selectees and foreign equivalent counterparts to the CNO or commandant of the Marine Corps who visit the national capital region on official business.
